A confusing weekend in and around APOEL this weekend following a disastrous result against Anorthosis has pushed APOEL Head Coach Ricardo Sá Pinto to the top of the headlines. Stel Stylianou takes a brief look at Sá Pinto and what has happened with him.

A Review of the 2023/24 Match Predictions!

Those who follow the website on Twitter/X have seen that I throw up some match predictions for every Matchday. Well, the results have been collated, and they are surprising!

Look at them here!

New article! Shortest Managerial Stints!

Everyone is getting fired again this season in the Protathlima. But… we have taken a look at who has lasted the shortest amount of time in the head coach role in the top division in Cyprus. There’s a couple of names in there that might cause some heads to turn.

Check it!

New article! Let’s check in on the national team! With actual data!

Now that the last international break until March is over, we have collated some data on the history of the National team, to see how bad the team has gotten in comparison to previous and whether current head coach Temuri Ketsbaia is correct in his assessment that Cyprus is “a small country”.

It’s all right here, and there’s a graph and everything!

AEK need a new manager!

The pressure has been building for a few weeks now, but following the defeat to APOEL, the pressure valve fell off, and Jose Luis Oltra has been dismissed at AEK.

Stel breaks down how well it started, the fall in form, the hopes for this season and failing to meet expectations as AEK’s season is in danger of being Oltra & Out

AEL have a new manager!

Finland’s Toni Koskela has arrived, and, following a win vs Othellos in his first game, he has come out with some big aims. Stel has a look to see how feasible these are, and whether Koskela will be bestowed with The Order of the Lion of Limassol.

We Love The International Break, Don’t We Folks?

Another international break in the football calendar means we have another chance to see the great national pride of Cyprus, the Ethniki that is getting very used to losing, and losing badly. Not only the that, but the coach seems to be stuck on repeat mode.

Stel has walked into the bingo hall to call out Temeuri Ketsbaia on a lot of the repeated rubbish that he spews out.

Ketsbaia Bingo!

“Thank you Coach”

Following the end of the collaborations between Marinos Satsias & Karmiotissa, Makis Sergidis & Doxa and Christos Charalambous & AEL leading to 6 managerial casualties in the 2023/24 season so far (before Matchday 8), Stel has a little look at some others nearing the chopping block…

The Revolving Door

Aris Limassol are not a good team.

Stel is on it again, but for this time at least, it’s not the Cyprus FA in his targets!

It’s those keyboard warriors disrespecting Aris Limassol.

Kostis Ilias doesn’t want to be Cypriot anymore…

He’s the latest, he’s not the first and he definitely won’t be the last. Let’s check on a list, shall we? Yes, let's.

There Are Problems Ahead…

The car of the mother of referee Menelaus Antoniou was bombed on the weekend of Matchday 4 in the 2023/24 season of the Cypriot Protathlima. Sadly, this is only the latest in a long line of incidents aimed at referees in Cyprus.

Stel Stylianou is back on the website with a breakdown of what has happened over the last few years and why the referees have finally decided to go on strike.

So. Many. Guests.

So many. We have:

Sure seems to be a lot of people from Limassol teams. Need to stretch it out a little.

We’re guesting on other people’s podcasts!

Turns out knowledge of Cypriot Football is in high demand (by one person in particular). So here we are: The Soccernoob podcast, providing a one-stop shop and brief overview for those not necessarily well versed in the world of football… soccer presented by the eponymous Soccernoob and his daughter Personnoob. The podcast is informative on statistics, history and news relating to the matches discussed in question, and they get about. Episodes have involved match previews in Indonesia, Mexico, Northern ireland, Women’s Ligue 1, the Faroe Islands, Iran, and four or five times now… Cyprus.

The humour is eclectic.

Listen to me be interviewed and be wrong about all the match predictions they asked me to comment on:
